xingrencha.biz was set up to house the personal website –http://geocities.com/lucy1808 – I have been maintaining since 2000, because geocities would be closing down on Oct 26 and all geocities’ free web tenants have to clear out or risk their designs n content disappearing into the black hole of cyberspace.

But after registering with yahoo web hosting on Aug 16 to avert such a tragic end for my website, I found that contrary to what I was led to believe – ie lucy1808 would be automatically transferred — nothing of the sort happened. No response to my email to yahoo’s webhosting “help” links either.

So I was left to decide whether I was going to manually migrate lucy1808 to xingrencha or find some other use for it.

As I rummaged through nearly 10 years of accumulated content and various codes, snipped from here, there and thither, much looked like my well worn clothes. Best left in my thumb drive for occasional reference.

The remainder that I want to move to xingrencha is barely enough to fill one MB.

Then by happenchance, a site I was developing with an ex-colleague looked in danger of not gaining momentum. So, I decided to go solo with www.xingrencha.biz .

The tagline for xingrencha is signpost286. The number 286 stands for “to China” (with 86 being the international dialing code for China).
